Leadership Sumner
A Personal Development Program for Community Leaders

Leadership Sumner is a personal development program designed to motivate participants to develop and enhance the quality of their leadership in addressing pertinent community needs.

Leadership Sumner consists of a one-weekend retreat in September and monthly one-day topic-oriented seminars over the course of ten months.

The retreat provides structured exercises and presentations which explore theories of leadership and personal power, as well as decision-making through group discussion, analysis and probing. Each one-day seminar focuses on a major area of community concern and explores the issue of leadership within the context of the day's subject.

Each session is carefully designed to present a wide range of opinions and perspectives to encourage thoughtful discussions through lectures, panel presentations, field trips, exhibits and a variety of group activities. Participants are given the opportunity to explore controversial issues with leaders representing a broad range of community interests about the selected topic.

The deadline for applying for the Leadership Sumner program is typically August 1 of each year.  For more information or to download an application form, please visit the Leadership Sumner web site: www.leadershipsumner.com.
