There are two weather reporting stations that are closest to Portland.  The first is at the airport in Nashville, Tennessee.   The second is at the airport in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Many people feel that the forecast for Bowling Green is closer to Portland's forecast because both Portland and Bowling Green are higher than Nashville.  In any event, we provide two links below; just click on the icons.

Bowling Green Historical Data

The chart below shows the average and extreme temperatures in Bowling Green.

The next chart shows the average precipitation in Bowling Green.

The next chart shows the average snowfall amounts in Bowling Green.

You will also find a host of weather-related information at the National Weather Service's web site at: www.nws.noaa.gov

Note: We keep checking the charts and graphs above to see if they have been updated.  As of March 7, 2003, they have not been.  If anybody knows where we can obtain more current graphs, please let us know.  Thanks!

Scanner Frequency

If you have a scanner, you may want to set it to 147.240 Mhz during bad weather.  The Sumner County Amateur Radio Association (SCARA) operates the repeater which broadcasts weather information provided by spotters around the county.
